MASHSF x CINELLI UPDATE

New Fixie Bike Is Here

SANTA FE, JULY 3, 2009 - Great news for Cinelli fans who got their first taste of the collaboration with MASHSF at Interbike 2008 and liked what they saw. The prototype track bike was made production-ready over the winter and the first finished framesets will hit shops in early July. We now have even more details and photos to share:

The MASHSF X Cinelli fixie bike is an all-new design built from the ground up, unlike previous collaborative art bikes that were designed around existing models. The bike features pursuit track geometry, monochromatic paint scheme and a retro-Classic Cinelli crest logo on the head tube.

The price is confirmed at MSRP $850 US for frame, fork and headset. In the US, bikes will be available through Cinelli Authorized Dealers (see Cinelli-USA.com for a complete list of locations.)

ABOUT MASH:
Founded by Mike Martin and Gabe Morford, the group is a hotbed of ideas, projects and two-wheel adventures, around which artists, photographers, creative talents and messengers gravitate. Mash is a testament to the efficacy of the frame, wheels, cockpit, and drive-train that carry riders through SF’s labyrinth of lanes, alleys, and everything in between. The group released the cult film MASH last year, about fixie pioneers in action in the San Francisco area. http://www.mashsf.com/

ABOUT THE DESIGNER:
The graphic design is by Benny Gold, one of the best-known designers on the street and skate scene, who has worked with Adidas, Nike, Burton and other leading trademarks on the West Coast. Benny Gold is an independent graphic designer specializing in logo design and apparel graphics. He is best known for his work with Huf and Mash. Benny created the original identities for both brands. "The custom paint and frame stickers are meant to resemble the shape of the Mash lighting bolt and give the bike a feeling of speed. Cinelli’s classic head badge worked perfect for the collaboration. Unfortunately they did not have the artwork for the crest anymore, so I had to redraw the entire thing." http://www.bennygold.com/

A WORD FROM CINELLI:
The president of Cinelli and Gruppo SPA, Antonio Colombo, has put plenty of energy into this project. : "I’ve always liked these collaborations, ever since the days of the Airone Rampichino or the Laser project. I am convinced that there is room for multiple talents, without jealousy or envy: let's go team!" . http://www.cinelli.it
